A Blocky Game!

In a world, made of pixels and blocks, stands a solitary player creating his own universe.

In this computer game there really is no goal, and even if you choose to you go back to the regular world instead of the end world you can continue on whatever you were doing before. You can do whatever you want, from building a castle or go down into the darkest caves to find diamonds, iron, gold, and coal. Notch (The Creator of this game) didn’t implement a lot of ideas to have a different gameplay they were thinking about making. Like they were supposed to add a nether core reactor, which is a block that created a nether portal, but they didn’t.

I really like this game because you don’t have to do what anyone says (unless you’re on a server). For instance, if you want to build a house first and then go find materials no one can tell you on how to do it. You can also download mods (modifications) to change the way you can play. For example, one of the mods called Buildcraft lets you make industrial things that will do things such as mining and a lot of different tasks, but it will cost (not money in case that was what you were thinking) a lot of resources.

Overall, Minecraft was a really good game and would deserve 5 paws although it costs $24.95 which stinks, but if you work hard for the money, trust me I know you won’t be disappointed!

Stone Fox

SWOOSH-SH-SH-SH-SWOOSH-SH-SH-SH-SWOOSH go the sleds as they race across the snow.

Little Willy finds out that Grandpa is sick, and now the harvest is up to Little Willy. After that Little Willy finds out something amazing. After Little Willy does a good harvest, he goes into Lester’s General Store, and sees a poster announcing a Dog Sled Race. He asks Lester if he can take the poster with him. Little Willy decides that he will enter the race for Grandpa and for the taxes. When Little Willy finds out that it cost $50 to enter the Dog Sled Race, he decides to take his $50 out of his collage money. But when the race begins something happens! Will Little Willy and Searchlight win the race?

I liked this book because it was exciting. For example when it says “Searchlight waited too- ears perked up, eyes alert, legs slightly bent, ready to spring forward. B-O-N-G!!!!” Another reason I liked this book was because it was sad. For example when it says “And there’s no cure expect in the person’s own mind. I’m sorry, child, but it appears that your Grandfather just doesn’t want to live any-more.”

If you like Dog Sled Races, then I would recommend this book for you! I would give this book 5 paws!

Toddlers and Tiaras

Why in the world would parents put their child on TODDLERS & TIARAS?

TODDLERS & TIARAS is a show on TLC. It’s about   beauty pageants and the parents who want their kids to be on TV.
I love this show because it is funny. For example, it shows the people’s houses, and the people are over the top! I laugh out loud!

What I don’t like about the show is how the parents treat their kids. For example, pageant girls need a perfect tan, a really sparkly dress, sparkly shoes, a wig that has to match your hair color, and a flipper. A flipper is fake plastic teeth that you put in your mouth to look straight a pretty. Sometimes it is not a good idea to put your child all fancy when they can turn into a big DIVA. Sometimes the parents don’t even have time to be with their kids.  This is why people are crazy when they put their child on TV.

Even though the parents are crazy, I’d still recommend the show. I give Toddlers and Tiaras 3 paws.

Minecraft

Do you know what it is like to be stuck in a pixel world? In Minecraft, you are.

This game has two levels: survival and creative. Also, the player can choose to play on easy, normal, or hard.  In survival mode there is a special surprise. The player starts out with no items. I would recommend first getting wood. At first the game might be boring. If you start on peaceful you can take your time doing anything you want. If you are on easy, normal, or hard you have to build your house quickly or try to survive the night! There are different kinds of ores, coal, iron, gold, diamond, and if you are on the computer there are emeralds.

In Minecraft there is no limit and there are no rules. On creative mode you have unlimited blocks, you can fly, and you cannot die.

One of my favorite parts is to catch animals. A good way to do that is to dig a three down as many wide as you want. In the update there are villages with villagers inside the houses. The villagers can also open doors. Also in the update there are enchanting tables. There are also quarts.
I like this game because it is full of adventure and there is no main story. An example of this is you can do anything you want.

The one thing I don’t like is that you can only jump one block high.

I would recommend this game to everybody that likes adventures. Over all I give this game five paws.

Minecraft!

Do you know what it’s like to be stranded in a pixel world? Well, in Minecraft, you are.

To start out you have nothing but yourself. First you work to get stuff you need to survive, like wood.  You can build houses, tracks for mine carts, or traps for animals and do whatever you want. There are different ores you can find. They are coal, iron, gold, and diamonds. You can make pickaxes, axes, swords, shovels, and hoes. But at night you’re not alone...

Minecraft is my favorite video game because it’s the only game you can do whatever you want. My favorite part is to capture animals, to do this you have to make a big hole three blocks down and the animals will fall in the hole by themselves. I also love Minecraft because there are two different modes, creative and survival. Creative is when you get every block there is and you can fly. You get unlimited blocks too. But you never die. Survival is when you have nothing but yourself.

Overall, I would give this game five paws.

Bella finds a home!

The puppy place series Bella

Have you ever had an abused dog? Well this family has!
In the book The puppy place the pound gets a phone call about an abused dog, then a worker walks into the pound with a dog in her arms. The dog is whimpering. The worker puts the dog in a big cage. Then she walks over to the front desk, and all the workers decide that they will name her Bella. Then the family that owns the pound decides that the youngest daughter will take care of Bella and try to find her an owner. But will the daughter find her an owner?

One reason I liked this book was because all of the chapters ended with a mystery. For example the end of chapter 9 says “will the family have enough people come to the car wash and meet Bella?” Another reason I liked this book was because the author made the story easy to picture in my mind. For example it said in chapter 10 that they were at the car wash in their driveway. People were driving up and parking in the grass, and on the road.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves dogs. I would give this book five paws!
